JAMMU: A deputation of local people of Poonch led by Advocate Ronik Sharma met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and apprised her of the importance of historic Shri Budha Amaranth Chhari Yatra of District Poonch.
Ronik said that large number of people of Rajouri and Poonch Districts in addition to large number of devotees from all other states take part in Annual Budha Amaranth Charri Yatra every year two days before Raksha Bandhan.
Advocate Ronik appealed to the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to declare local holiday for District Poonch on the day of Charri Yatra. He said that many religious, social and political organisations had already given in written to government to declare holiday on the Charri Yatra.
Chief Minister Mehboba Mufti gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that an appropriate action would be taken on the issue.
