Declare Accession Day a government festival: JPPF urges CM

JAMMU: As a mark of celebration of Accession Day, Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) after flag hoisting at its Headquarter Thakkar Sabha Jammu organized a rally culminating at Mahajan Sabha Shalamar where a seminar was held. The speakers spoke at length to analyze the importance of celebrating the Accession Day for Jammu and Kashmir State with the Union of India especially in the circumstances when a handful of unscrupulous elements including politicians have challenged the accession as a simple merger and not an accession and termed the same as void.
It becomes all the more important to celebrate the accession day when in Kashmir the anti-national elements including separatists are celebrating the day as black day.
The speakers convinced that there is no lacuna in the instrument of succession signed by the Maharaja of the J&K State Hari Singh on 26th October, 1947, which was accepted by the then Governor General, Government of India Lord Mountbatten on 27th October, 1947.
The speakers included M.S Katoch Working President JPPF, Kr Narayan Singh President Rajput Sabha, Vinod Gupta President Central Mahajan Sabha, V.P Sharma President Dogra Brahmin Pratinidi Sabha, Udhey Chand President Duggar Pradesh Party, Resham Singh Jamwal, K.B Jandial, Abhinav Sharma President Bar Association Jammu and Sunita Sharma. The seminar was compered by Pawan Gupta, General Secretary Central Mahajan Sabha.
While concluding the seminar, President JPPF Pavitar Singh Bhardwaj appealed to one and all to celebrate the Accession Day on October 27 at every nook and corner of the State irrespective caste, creed and political affiliations forming a common platform for the purpose of celebration.
Others who were present include Inderjeet Khajuria President AJHLA, Murari La Badgotra President Kashyap Rajput Sabha, Pritam Sharma President Kranti Dal, Ajeet Singh Adyal President Retired Employees Association, R.L Tandon, Jagdish Dogra President Santan Dharam Sabha, Jagdish Sharma, Ram Rattan Sharma, Mafan Lal Sharma, P.S Salathia, Balwan Singh, Pwan Sharma and M.L Sharma.
