Dear Editor,
The decision to impose ban on diesel-run vehicles that are older than 10 years is late, but appreciable. All vehicles come with a running age and it is the moral responsibility of owners to discard the vehicle once it crosses the limit. Till date, neither the owners nor the government has bothered to do so. The directions issued by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) must be enforced nationwide. Auto rickshaws and buses are biggest contributors of carbon content to the atmosphere. The NGT must direct auto companies to plan recycling of discarded vehicles else India will become a wrecking yard.
