JAMMU: A ration dealer was arrested for illegally selling PDS ration in Janipur area of Jammu.
As per reports, an information was received at Police Station Janipur regarding illegal sale of Government ration. Acting on the information, a police party raided the ration depot and recovered 150 Kg rice, sold to two persons without any ration card. A case vide FIR No. 97/2020 under Section 409 of IPC has been registered at Police Station Janipur against erring ration dealer, who was arrested on the spot. The accused was identified as Mohd Aslam Shah, son of Sayed Shah, resident of Janipur.
The raid and arrest was made under supervision of SDPO City West assisted by SHO Janipur, Insp Gurmeet Singh and SI Kashmir Singh. All the stock in the depot was counted and machine provided by the department for record was also seized. Further investigation of the case is going on.
