DDC reviews progress of RSETI, stresses on conducting market oriented programmes

KATHUA: District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, on Saturday convened a meeting of District level RSETI Advisory Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Rural Self Employment Training Institute to review the performance of the Institute.

A detailed discussion was held on performance and activities of the Institute including entrepreneurship awareness programmes in liaison with other supporting agencies like KVIB / DCI etc, approval of claim for reimbursement of training expenses and post training evaluation report.
Director RSETI, informed that 2011 candidates have been trained from April, 2011 till March 31, 2017 in 86 different trades besides they have conducted 80 sensitization and 197 awareness programs in different village of Kathua. Whereas, in the quarter ended June 2017, 166 candidates participated in 6 different programs as well as 23 awareness programs and 3 sensitization programs were held in various villages of Kathua set against the target of 500 candidates in 20 different programs.
Underscoring the need for career oriented training, DDC exhorted upon the Institute to improve the percentage of the settlement and reach higher levels in the days to come. He stressed upon the officials of the RSETI to take up necessary steps to improve the performance of institute during the current financial year by taking prompt steps to organize Entrepreneurship Awareness programme covering the entire district. He further directed the concerned officers to enclose the land identified for RSETI and asked them to motivate the candidates for opting trades as per their interest besides emphasized on introducing market oriented training programs.
Later, DDC chaired task force committee meeting to review the progress of Credit Link Subsidy Scheme(CLSS) under PMAY in which 12 cases for affordable housing were sanctioned. ACR Kathua, SDMs, LDM, representative of NABARD, Director SBIRSETI, PO DUDA, CAO and senior officers from banks as well as Govt. departments were present during the meeting.
