DDC Rajouri inaugurates district level exhibition under PMEGP

RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Wednesday inaugurated a day long exhibition cum sale organised by District Khadi Village Industries Board Rajouri.

In the exhibition which witnessed huge participation of ITI trainees and pass-out, products like blankets, kids wears, Crosio embroidery, cushion making, track suits, quilts/ pillow cover/bed sheets, LPG distribution/ repair and servicing, foot wear, RMGs, electronic items, photo framing, Gabba, shawl, Pashmina besides Khadi products were displayed by different unit holders for exhibition and sale.

Apart from KVIB, other Departments such as Handicraft, Handloom, District Industries Center, Agriculture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Sericulture, Apiculture and different financial institutes have also put up their stalls in the exhibition.

Dr. Shahid Choudhary, while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the role of KVIB in implementation of the PMEGP scheme in the district and generation of employment for most deserving and needy persons. He added that this initiative of KVIB for organising exhibition provide a plat form at single place to showcase the different products being manufactured by the units and to provide marketing avenues.

While referring to Central and State Government self employment schemes, the  DDC called upon the participants to avail the benefits entailed in these schemes for establishing their own income generating units.

Dr. Shahid also inspected products displayed by different unit holders as well as government departments. District Officer J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board Rajouri Sameer Ahmad also spoke on the occasion.

Later, DDC Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary also reviewed the action plan for National Immunisation Day to be observed from January 28 to 30, 2018 for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization in the district.

The DDC impressed upon the members of District Task Force to put in concerted and coordinated efforts so that not even a single child of targeted age group is left out. He called for social mobilization, carrying out of massive IEC activities through electronic, print and social media for awareness of masses.

DDC stressed for an effective monitoring system to be in place on NIDs for absolute coverage and asked for strict adherence to cold chain protocol to make the programme the safest and successful one.

The meeting was attended by PO ICDS Abdul Rashid, CEO Lal Hussain, CMO Dr. Suresh Gupta, District Immunization Officer Dr. Anis-A-Nabi, MS DH Dr. Mehmood Hussain Bajjar, DSWO Dr. Abdul Khabir, CDPO Auquil Nuvaid besides all block medical officers of the district.
