DDB approves Rs 187.53 crore annual plan for Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: The District Development Board Meeting on Tuesday approved 187.53 crore annual plan outlay for the financial year 2017-18 for the district.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Finance, Planning, IT, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, CA&PD, Tribal Affairs, Relief and Rehabilitation, Labour and Employment Ajay Nanda, Vice Chairman, J and K State Board for Welfare and Development of OBCs, Rashpaul Verma , Vice Chairperson, J&K State Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of Schedule Castes, Bhushan Lal Dogra, Legislators, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Dina Nath Bhagat, R. S. Pathania ,MLC (PRI) Sham Lal Bhagat besides Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Niraj Kumar , heads of various departments and district officers.
MoS Ajay Nanda laid stress on the development of infrastructure at the site of 3-day Moungri Mela and at Brahamchari Temple and said that these fairs reflect our vivid culture .He also emphasised on holding awareness camps at both tehsil and block level so that the common masses could avail benefit from them.
Legislators, Chenani, Ramnagar and Udhampur projected certain demands for the development of their constituencies and also highlighted various problems pertaining to electricity, roads, education, food supply and water being faced by the people of their constituencies.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Niraj Kumar briefed the meeting about the physical and financial progress achieved under different schemes/sectors in the district and gave a detailed account of achievements under PHE, PDD, PWD, PMGSY, Education and Health, Irrigation, Social Welfare and Agriculture Departments etc and also highlighted various demands.
