JAMMU: District Congress Committee, Jammu Urban, on Sunday conducted membership drive under the leadership of Anil Chopra, District President Jammu Urban, here.
Senior Vice President, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Raman Bhalla and Choudhary Manmohan Singh were the Chief Guests on the occasion.
Anil Chopra said that the membership drive will be continued in the other part of the districts as well.
Raman Bhalla said, “We want to build strong party cadre and our workers will contact with the masses by campaigning door to door.”
Bhalla strongly criticised BJP- PDP Coalition Government, headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for not granting AIIMS to Jammu.
Moreover, he said, attitude of the government towards Artificial Lake in Jammu is very rude.
“BJP Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh and other party colleagues are working against the wishes of people of Jammu and totally surrendered to PDP,” he alleged.
Manmohan Singh appealed to public and party cadre to join the Congress Party which is the secular minded party and always worked for the nation and poor people.
They hope that large number of youth and other people will get the membership of the party for fight against anti social and anti-national elements.
