JAMMU: The District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) celebrated the 101st Birth Anniversary of veteran Congress leader Girdhari Lal Dogra at a function organised here at PCC HQs on Sunday.
President DCC Jammu (Urban) Anil Chopra presided over the function, which was attended by office bearers of districts, blocks. On the occasion Vice President PCC, Raman Bhalla was also present.
Paying rich tributes to Dogra, Anil Chopra described him as a truly committed Congressman who was dedicated to the cause of poor and down trodden irrespective of caste, creed, colour, region or religion. He said that Dogra Sahib served the State in different capacities as Member of Constituent Assembly, Minister for Finance for about 27 years and twice Member Parliament.
Bhalla said Dogra was the great personality of the State. His simplicity and commitment to the ideology of the Congress Party would be always remembered moreover people of the State cannot forget his services towards poor and needy people of the State, he added.
Bhalla asked the party men to follow the principles and philosophy of G.L Dogra to strengthen secularism, unity and integrity of the State.
