DODA: District Development Commissioner Doda Shyam Vinod Meena on Tuesday inspected restoration work of damaged public utilities in the Bhagwah- Dessa- Kastigarh areas .
En-route, the DDC held series of interactions with people of Bhagwah, Bimna, Mechar, Gai Dessa and Kastigarh and listened to their grievances. The people demanded early restoration of road connectivity, Water Supply Schemes, Irrigation Canals, Power Supply and Compensation for the crop and property damages caused by incessant rains.
The DDC directed the Revenue Department to galvanise man power and coordinate with the concerned line departments to complete loss assessment, carry out survey of the remaining affected areas and submit a detailed report at the earliest.
The DDC also took stock of the damages to agriculture and horticulture crops in the affected areas and issued on the spot instructions to the concerned officers for assessment of the damages in coordination with revenue authorities.
He also inquired about the stocks and supplies of ration and other essential commodities and inspected food stores at Bhagwah, Manjmi, Gai Dessa and Kastigarh.
The DDC also inspected the restoration work on the Dessa-Doda Water Supply Scheme that has suffered damages due to rains. He directed PHE Department to ensure speedy restoration of other affected drinking water supply schemes in the area.
Regarding clearance of slides and road restoration on Doda-Bhagwah, Bhagwah-Kastigarh and Bhagwah –Dessa Roads, he directed XEN R&B and XEN PMGSY to expedite the road clearance works wherever restoration is pending.
The DDC also inspected various HealthCare Institutions in the area and directed health authorities to maintain sufficient stock of life saving drugs and other essential medicines to handle any medical emergency.
Meena also directed PDD Doda to expedite the process of restoration of power distribution network in the area.
BDO Bhagwah was directed to submit the pending reports about damages caused to public infrastructure constructed under various schemes of Rural Development Department in the area.
District Statistics and Evaluation Officer Doda Dr. Yassir Balwan, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Doda Madan Lal, Executive Engineer PMGSY Division Doda, Executive Engineer PHE Division Doda, Tehsildar Bhagwah, BDO Bhagwah and other officers also accompanied the DDC during the visit.
