JAMMU: V. Badrinath Educational Trust run institutions viz DBN Vidya Mandir Amarvilla, DBN Vidya Mandir Mubarak Mandi and Susheela Narendrajit Singh Camp Road Talab Tillo celebrated their annual day in the Zorawar Singh Auditorium Jammu University, here on Friday.
Lt. Gen. (retd) N.S Malik was the Chief Guest and the function as presided over by the Chairman V. Badrinath Educational Trust, Virendrajit Singh.
The function was based on the theme of ‘Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat’.
The function started with lighting of ceremonial lamp followed by Sarawati Vandana.
The students presented colourful cultural programmes on the occasion. Display of martial arts, Yoga and cultural items by tiny tots were the main attractions of the function.
Earlier, the Chief Guest was presented a guard of honour by the NCC boys and girls contingents and march past squad.
Welcoming the guest, Manager Trust Rajendra Kakkar presented a brief history of the institutions.
The Chairman Virendrajit Singh explored the aims and future programmes of the educational trust. Advisor Lila Karan Sharma, Yash Paul Puri and Ramakant Dubey presented the annual reports.
The Yog Prakash award for the year 2014 was presented to Dr. Sarla Kohli, former Principal and social activist while S.K Jain, a prominent social activist was also honoured.
Sunanda Sachdeva was given award for dynamic leadership and Jyotsana Bhargava, Veena Gulati and Anuradha Sharma were given Lifetime achievement award.
Anandita Thakur, Vivasvan Sawhney and Yudhveer Padha were awarded frothier par excellence achievement in academics, sports and athletics respectively.
Director Academics, Suresh Sharma presented the vote of thanks.
The function was coordinated by the Principals Dr. Baljeet Singh, Indu Puri and Neelam and was attended by large number of prominent citizens and parents.
The Chief Guest expressed hope that trust will continue imparting quality education and building overall personality of the students to make them better citizens.
