DB upholds reinstatement of Satish Khajuria

JAMMU: In a big jolt to the State Government, Division Bench of J&K High Court on Friday dismissed the appeal against the judgement of the Singe Judge, quashing the order of compulsory retirement of former Chief Khilafwarzi Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
In open court, the DB consisting of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan, after hearing senior Advocate Sunil Sethi, appearing for Satish Khajuria and Sr AAG S S Nanda for the government, upheld the order of the Single Judge.
On July 16, Justice B S Wali of J&K High Court had quashed the order of compulsory retirement of Satish Khajuria, Chief Khilafwarzi Officer, Jammu Municipal Corporation. The Court had ordered his reinstatement with all benefits.
On June 28, 2016, Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir of J&K High Court had quashed the order of compulsory retirement of Dr Mohammad Riyaz, former General Manager, J&K Medical Supplies Corporation.

On July 2, 2015, the State Government had ordered termination/premature retirement of 63 public servants including some KAS officers and two Chief Engineers.
