DB directs to file status report failing which Rs 10,000 costs will be imposed

PIL regarding creation of Artificial Lake in River Tawi, Gandola Project

JAMMU: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Inderjeet Khajuria President All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association Jammu supporting public causes including creation of Artificial Lake in River Tawi and Gandola Project from Mubarak Mandi to Bahu Fort, a Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court comprising Chief Justice N. Kotishwar Singh and Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi after hearing Adv Meenakshi Salathia for the PIL, directed to file latest/updated status with regard to the completion of the project of Artificial Lake in river Tawi; laying down of the Gandola project from Mubarak Mandi to Bahu Fort; and beautification of the areas.
DB further ordered that if the said latest/updated status report is not filed within a period of two weeks, a cost of Rs 10,000 will be imposed on the concerned officer/official and the same will be recovered from the salary of the said concerned officer.
