Dar asks party to gear up for polls

MENDHAR: Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and it’s District President, Shamim Ahmed Dar on Monday asked party leaders and workers to gear up for the Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat elections, expected to be held soon.
While addressing a meeting of party workers at Mendhar during inauguration of PDP’s zonal office, Dar said the party needs to be ready for the elections to ensure success and take the district forward. “We have to make our party ready so that we win the local body elections with good success and take the district forward”, he added. He said the party will soon launch a membership drive across the district. He said that people have understood everything and are wise enough to compare the previous PDP dispensation headed by late Mufti Sahib and people will reject those who only put the State on the path of non- development and corruption.
“To solve multifarious problems being faced by the people in Poonch, we have to remain in touch with them and address their issues”, he said while asking the party functionaries of different zones to tell the people about the developmental programme initiated by the previous PDP dispensations for the people of Pir Panjal region. Among others senior PDP leader, Advocate Mahroof Khan, Mohammad Azam Sagar, Zahida Parveen, Mohammad Din Poswal, Sarpanch Habibullah, Abdul Razaq, Abdil Rashid were present on the occasion.
