Dalai Lama blessed foundation stone for International Institute for Culture & Ethics

LEH: The initiative of Flowering Dharma, a youth organization, to establish the International Institute of Culture and Ethics (IICE) at Chuchot Gongma for preservation and promotion of Indian Wisdom Tradition, Himalayan Cultural Heritage, Art, Languages, Emotion, Ethics and Science, was presented to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Thursday at Abi-spang, Spituk at the thanks-giving luncheon event hosted by the Ladakh Buddhist Association and All Ladakh Gonpa Association. His Holiness blessed the foundation stone of the Institute which will be consecrated at the proposed site of the Institute at Chuchot Gongma. The Dalai Lama has also contributed a sum of Rs. 3,00,000 as a blessing and seed fund towards the project, for which the organization expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the His Holiness and his office on behalf of the people of the Himalayan region from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh.
The event today at Abi-Spang was the final event of His Holiness in Ladakh before his scheduled departure on 26th August. In his brief talk during the occasion, His Holiness spoke on the importance of warm heartedness and stressed on learning of Nalanda Wisdom tradition. He finally shared his wish to visit Ladakh next year as well.
