Daily wagers, CP workers feel betrayed: Ravinder

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Former MLC and Chief Spokesperson JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma expressed serious concern over hardships being faced by the people due to worst scenario of power and water supply in the entire Jammu province.
Sharma lashed out at the government for its failure to maintain regular and un-interrupted power and water supply when the temperature has touched record high in most parts of Jammu province. “The power scenario in Jammu city is very bad while in rural areas its worst, as there is no one to undertake the repair and replacements of damaged transformers at the earliest. The erratic power supply has badly affected the water supply system in most parts,” he said. Sharma conducted an extensive tour of Nowshera-Sunderbani areas and listened to the woes of the people.
There are several localities where the transformers are overloaded or damaged and water supply is affected but authorities fail to respond, he added.
“The need based, CP workers and daily wagers who are performing duties in the heat wave, feel betrayed by the present government since they are without wages for over 34 months, what to talk of promised regularisation and regular wages,” he said.
The deputation of PHE workers led by Pushkar Raj, President, Khaliq Hussian General Secretary of the Union met Sharma and apprised him of the hardships of labour class. Sharma lashed out at the government and reminded the ruling leaders of their promises to the labor class and demanded fulfillment of their commitments to them.
