JAMMU: In time alerting of responsive police while helps in timely detection of crime, it creates deterrence for criminals leading to prevention of crime. Hailing the Dial-100 project inaugurated by DGP J and K, BJP State Spokesperson S.S. Bijral ‘former IGP’ said this project would prove key to effective policing in the State. Lauding the project based on Police Emergency Management System (PEMS) comprising of strategically placed Dial-100 response vehicles equipped with GPS, other modern equipment, and first aid, controlled by nerve centre of efficient, trained police personnel in Police Control Room, operational round the clock, Bijral said that the key in this system would be the timely sensitisation of ganglion-the project operator, from scene of crime and action generated for field unit.
Commenting that though simple and promising, as it appears, it would be challenging enough being dependant on alert and efficient mind attending in PCR and high order dedication and commitment of the action field unit, he said this project is going to prove a double edged weapon both in building on much needed police public image or losing on it.
Bijral, the senior cop, BJP Spokesperson accepting that the State passing through challenges going tough day by day and the way police in perfect coordination with other security forces is playing a leading role, welcomed the innovative project of police leadership believed that it would prove effective in providing relief to public at large and lowering the crime graph.
He stressed for closer public cooperation, crucial for success of this project. People, he said should be forthcoming in acknowledging success or otherwise, benefits of the project to the police leadership for its long lasting results.
