JAMMU: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages on Monday felicitated a well known multi-faceted personality of Hindi World Narinder Mohan in the K.L Saigal Hall, Academy Complex, Jammu.
P.N Trisal a noted Hindi writer presided whereas another famous personality of Hindi, Dr. Agni Shekhar graced the occasion as Chief Guest with Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages who was also on the dice.
Born on July 3rd, 1935 at Lahore Pakistan, Narinder Mohan finally came in Delhi in 1967 and authored more than 50 books in different genre. Narinder Mohan has earned a lot of name and fame in the literary field. His poems and novels have been translated into Punjabi, Urdu, Marathi, Kannad and other languages. He also has the distinction of being showered with numerous honours and awards among prominent were Sheeromani Sahityakar Award of Punjab Best Novelist Award from Hindi Akademi, Delhi, Best Book Award for his poetry book entitled ‘Is Hadse Main’ from Languages Department, Punjab, Haryana Sahitya Akademi Award.
Trisal appreciated the role of JKAACL for taking initiative in holding series under Sarhe Prouhane.
Dr Agni Shekhar, who was Chief Guest on the occasion, complemented the Academy for felicitating Narinder Mohan.
Earlier, Prof Narinder Mohan spoke about his experiences of life and creative process and also shared some memorable moments of life.
Dr. Rajni Bala, Senior Assistant Professor Department of Hindi, University of Jammu presented a detailed paper on the life and works of Narinder Mohan.
Azra Choudhary, Editor Hindi conducted the proceedings of the programmes whereas a vote of thanks was delivered by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri.
