JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Athletics Association on Saturday organised Cross Country competition cum trials at MA Stadium, here to pick up probables.
Soon after the event ended, the selection penal named the athletes for upcoming 58th National Cross Country Athletics Championships to be held in Gaya in Bihar from January 15, 2024.
Selected Athletes: Men/Boys: Mohd Imran and Shahid Bhat (Under-16); Zaid U Bin Mushtaq and Fazail Nabi (Under-18); Brij Bhushan, Parveen Kumar, Mohammad Ansari and Vijay Kumar (Under-20); Gulbadan, Akshay, Balwinder, and Raghav (Men Open). Women/Girls: Sunakshi Thakur and Akshara Sharma (under-16); Sakshi Thakur (Under-18).
The Competition Results: Under-16 (2 km): Boys: Mohd. Imran (6:54.1), Ist; Shahid Bhat (6:56.52), 2nd and Rakesh Kumar (7:05.28), 3rd.Girls: Sunakshi Thakur (8:48.49), Ist; Akshara Sharma (9:00.71), 2nd and Sanjana Kumari (9:56.43), 3rd. Under-18 (6 km): Boys: Zaid U Bin Mushtaq (20:54.08), Ist; Fazail Nabi (21:29.26), 2nd and Hashim Reyez (21:35.10), 3rd.
