Crime Branch unearths fake PRC Scam

JAMMU: Crime Branch Jammu registered a case in fake Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) case. According to Crime Branch, a communication bearing No. RRCM/PRC/16-17/6-7 dated 6th September, 2016 together with the original PRC of Manpreet Singh, made by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Jammu was received, wherein it was stated that the original PRC issued in favour of Manpreet Singh, son of Popinder Singh, resident of Darda Pora, Baramulla at present Raipur, Satwari was fake as the signature of Rajesh Sharma, then Assistant Commissioner (Relief) was forged and the said officer was not posted in the organization in January, 2016, as such, the matter may be investigated.
From the above it transpires that the PRC in favour of Manpreet Singh son of Popinder Singh resident of Darda Pora, Baramulla at present Raipur, Satwari was prepared by said Manpreet Singh in connivance with some other persons under the forged signatures of then Assistant Commissioner (Relief) Rajesh Sharma by resorting to fraudulent means in order to seek cash assistance and other reliefs from the Govt.
The omissions and commissions, therefore, on the part of Manpreet Singh son of Popinder Singh resident of Darda Pora, Baramulla at present Raipur, Satwari and others, prima facie, constitute offences punishable under sections 420,465,466,467,468,471,120-B RPC.
