Crime Branch nabs fraudster for cheating

JAMMU: The Crime Branch Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police has nabbed one Navdeep Singh, son of Nirmal Singh, resident of House No 15, Sector-4, Sanjay Nagar, Jammu for cheating and fraud.
As per an official spokesperson, the sleuths of Crime Branch received a written complaint alleging therein that accused Navdeep Singh, claiming himself as proprietor of NAS Enterprises, Malik Market, Channi Rama, Jammu approached the complainant and said that he has been given a contract for installation of 13 HVDS Electrical Poles at DT, 56 Sector-4, Channi Himmat, Jammu along with installation of 32 HVDS Electrical Poles at RC Feeder 1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. “It was further alleged that accused along with his other accomplices promised to pay Rs 12,000 per pole to complainant, and under a well-knit conspiracy with dishonest intention, allured a sum of Rs 4.5 lakh from complainant as advance money through cheques and cash for installation of electric poles,” the official said, adding that after a preliminary verification, FIR 26/2022 under sections 420, 120-B of RPC was registered at Police Station Crime Branch, Jammu for in-depth investigation.
Accordingly, a team of Special Crime Branch, Jammu arrested the accused from Udhampur, who was evading his arrest. Further investigation of case is going on and more arrests are expected in coming days.
