JAMMU: Additional Sessions Judge Doda Amarjeet Singh Langeh took serious note of investigation conducted in attempt to murder case in a very casual and slip shod manner leaving yawning infirmities as noticed above.
Besides two investigating officers, buck also stops with the then supervisory officers. But for lack of modicum supervision, investigation might not have been carried out the way it has been.
Nothing more needs to be said except that a copy of this judgment shall go to Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir for information.
This order has been passed by Additional Sessions Judge Doda Amarjeet Singh Langeh while dealing with a case of attempt to murder case whereby Court held that prosecution has not been able to prove charges against accused by leading cogent, reliable and trustworthy evidence. Suspicion howsoever strong cannot be a substitute for proof beyond reasonable doubt.
This challan, therefore, is dismissed. Court held that accused namely Gandhi Lal, Pritam Singh and Sheela Devi are acquitted.
