Court summons Harsh Dev in defamation case filed by Vilakshan

JAMMU: 2nd Additional Munsiff Jammu, Shama Sharma has taken cognizance in a criminal complaint filed by Vilakshan Singh, President J&K National Panthers Party against Harsh Dev Singh, Ex-Education Minister, Ankit Love son of Lt. Prof. Bhim Singh and Ashish Kohli.
The order was passed after hearing Advocate Pinki Thakur.
In a complaint filed against Harsh Dev Singh and others, Vilakshan Singh had stated that he was the legally elected President of J&K National Panthers Party but Ankit Love wanted to project Harsh Dev Singh as the president of the party and Harsh Dev Singh also wanted to become the President of JKNPP.
Vilakshan had also stated in his complaint that Harsh Dev Singh and Ankit Love knew that they could not get successful in controlling JKNPP without removing him from the post of the President of the party.
Vilakshan had further stated that Harsh Dev Singh and Ankit Love hatched a conspiracy to defame him and got a defamatory video uploaded against him on social media to lower his image in the society.
Vilakshan Singh had also asserted that Harsh Dev Singh had not only conspired to defame him but had also shared a defamatory video made against him on face book. The Court had sent the matter for enquiry to the police authorities.
The report filed by the police substantiated the claim made by Vilakshan Singh.
Court while directing issuance of summons to the accused persons found that there was sufficient ground for proceeding against the accused persons under section 500 r/w 34 IPC. The Court has directed the accused persons to appear before the Court on December 5, 2023.
