UDHAMPUR: In a tragic incident, a couple and their niece were drowned in Panni Nallah near Ghrd Sawnabanj in Tehsil Ramnagar in Udhampur.
According to report, a couple identified as 42 years Dhian Singh son of Munshi Ram and his spouse Lila Devi wife of Dhain Singh and their niece identified as 14 years Arti daughter of of Hans Raj resident of Joffar were drowned in nallah.
Sources disclosed that on seeing their niece drowning in Panni Nallah, couple one after the other jumped into the Nallah and before they reach their niece were also drowned.
The incident occurred when the three of them were grazing cattle and the girl expressed her desire to bath in the Nallah.
Local divers swung into action and retrieved their dead bodies and shifted to nearby PHC. Ramnagar Police has registered a case under section 174 Cr. PC for investigation.
