KUPWARA: On the directions of Executive Chairman, State Legal Services Authority, a judicial Core Group for Kupwara District was constituted to supervise the relief and raising funds and other logic support for the flood affected families.
In this connection the chairman Core Group (Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kupwara Mohammad Ibrahim Wani yesterday convened a meeting of officers of district administration, representatives of civil society, NGOs to sensitize them about the raising of funds for the flood affected families and discuss various issues and sought suggestions from them and other measures.
It was decided that every gazette officers will donate Rs 500, Non-Gazetted officers Rs. 300 while class IV employees will donate Rs. 200 each from the salary of the current month. Besides the Health municipal Committee, R&B, PHE, departments will depute their teams for restoration and sanitation works with logical support for the flood affected areas in Srinagar, Bandipora and Sumbal Sonawarai areas.
The Principal District and Session Judge nominated as Chairman Core Group Kupwara exhorted upon the stake holders to work with co-ordination and missionary spirit to help the flood affected families. He also impressed upon the officers, traders, councillars, members of civil society, NGOs to raise funding from their jurisdiction to help the victims for their timely rehabilitation. He hailed the role of president Bar Association Kupwara for collection of Rs. 5 lakh in cash and 2 load trucks of food grains for the flood victims of different areas.
He was informed that five lakh tablets have been distributed among the flood affected victims in Kupwara District.
