The core group team also found that most of the affected people have not been provided with proper tented accommodation therefore they are bound to live under unsafe tarpaulin sheets. Beside this, people also complained about loss of connectivity due to damaged roads edifice and functioning of schools in unsafe buildings. Core group also visited the relief camp setup at village Panjar where affected people of village Sadal have been provided temporary shelters. Team also observed that free ration as directed by state Govt. has not been supplied till date to the affected people of the area. According to Govt. order, free ration for a period of 6 months is to be provided to the affected families. Order says 50 kg ration shall be provided to each family right from month of September 2014. Core group also projected the grievances of the affected people to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur. Core group has impressed upon the administration that the matter may be taken up with concerned department/agencies so that the aggrieved affected people may not suffer any more and their problems should be addressed at the earliest.
Special emphasis has been made upon administration to ensure the implementation of the order relating to provision of free ration to the affected people and it’s monitoring in order to obviate the possibility of pilferage of food stocks meant for the affected people.
