Consumption, trade of narcotics are worst possible crime against humanity: SP City South

JAMMU: On the eve of martyrdom (23rd March, 1931) of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Ajay Sharma, SP City South, Jammu City, under Operation ‘Pathshalla’ participated in the programme organised by the students of Jammu university in the campus premises.
He delivered a lecture on drug abuse and described consumption and trade of narcotics as the worst possible crime against humanity.
He also explained to audience how drug trade is supported by the adversary and how the money generated by it is utilised as for terror funding and anti national activities against the unity and integrity of the country.
He requested all students of Jammu university, faculty, doctors and media persons present to take a pledge on the eve of Martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh to stay away from Substance abuse and act as ambassador to eradicate the menace of Drug abuse.
He requested everyone present to identify such vulnerable persons from peer group and treat the victims of drug abuse with sympathy, love and care.
SP South further requested students to act decisively and passionately in waging war against the Drug abuse as knowledge about Drug abuse is one of the most potent weapon to stay away from it. He emphasised that jammu Kashmir police needs support and cooperation of youth, specially the student fraternity and academia to win this ongoing war against drug abuse and narcotic trade.
Further, in a blood donation camp organised in the memory of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Ajay Sharma voluntarily donated blood to pay his deep tribute to one of the great revolutionary freedom fighter of India who sacrificed his life in his prime youth for securing freedom. He disclosed that Shaheed Bhagat Singh is his ideal .
There was a free medical awareness camp also organised which was also inspected and role of Doctors in spreading awareness and treating victims was also discussed and appreciated by all.
