Conspiracy to destroy cultural heritage of Jammu: DSS

 STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Showing concern about the decision of the government to shift artifacts, manuscripts and paintings to Srinagar from Kala-Kendra, Jammu thereby depriving the Jammu province of its rich heritage, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) said these attempts are dangerous and fraught with serious consequences.
Talking to reporters, former Minister and President, Dogra Sadar Sabha, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak appealed people of Jammu region to be vigilant against such types of deep-rooted conspiracy to destroy the cultural heritage of Duggar Pradesh and thwart the evil designs of such anti-Jammu forces.
Besides this, he decided that ‘Save the Birds Day’ and ‘Water Conservation Day’ shall be observed by the Sabha on 7th May, 2016.
“Every year Dogra Sadar Sabha observes ‘Save the Birds Day’ for saving the birds from dying of thirst by providing water to these birds, by hanging the clay pots full of water in and outside the houses and other suitable places,” he said.
“Since the water bodies are being destroyed, water flowing through Nallahs, rivers etc. is being wasted, accordingly it is decided that 7th May shall also be observed as ‘Water Conservation Day also,” he further said.
He further said that a slogan writing competition shall be organized by the Sabha on 30th April, 2016 wherein entries for attractive slogan writing about “Water Conservation and Save the Birds Day” shall be invited and three cash prizes awarded to top three position holders.
