Congress remembers contributions of all party workers: Sawhney

JAMMU: To pay tributes to all those leaders and workers of Congress, who have recently passed away, District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) held a meeting at party office on Monday. Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney along with Manmohan Singh, Dr Ramakant Khajuria, Pawan Dev Singh, Ritu Choudhary and other District Congress leaders were present on the occasion and paid floral tributes to departed souls besides observed 2-minute silence and conveying condolences to the bereaved families. Tributes were paid to Madan Lal Malager, Babbu Singh, Anand Gandotra and Anju Bala.
Speaking on the occasion, Sawhney remembered contribution of the leaders, stating that their work and dedication towards party will not be forgotten. “Congress values and remembers contributions of its workers, at any level. Working at grass-root level, each of our members has helped in strengthening the party. They served excellently in various capacities as members of block committees, as block presidents, and district leaders,” said Sawhney. “The departed leaders were worked hard in highlighting people’s issues besides working dedicatedly for their upliftment. The grass-root level work done by Congress leaders helps cascade effect to the upper levels of the party and strengthen it comprehensively. They will always be remembered with fondness and respect for their contribution,” asserted Sawhney.
Senior Congress leader Manmohan Singh also expressed profound grief and sorrow on sad demise of Congress members and conveyed condolences to bereaved families. Others present on the occasion included Krishan Lal Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma, Narinder Gupta, Varinder Manhas, Chandershekhar Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Rakesh Sharma Parw Wani, Sandeep Dogra, Vimal Pandita, Ram Magotra, Hoshiar Singh, Janak Raj, Surinder Kumar, Darshan Lal Verma, Vishal, Sohan Lal, Prithvi Raj, R V Magotra, Tariq Hussain and Sajid Ahmad Mir.
