JAMMU: Congress Party on Tuesday protested the steep hike in the prices of diesel and petrol. Demanding its rollback, the parties charged the BJP-led NDA government with dealing a blow to the common man in whose name it came to power.
Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha Youth Congress Committee headed by Th. Hoshiar Chib-General Secretary, Jammu Poonch Lok Sabha accompanied by Prateek Singh and Vikrant Khajuria-Assembly General Secretary of Raipur Domana Constituency along with a large number of Youth Congress workers and general public staged a protest.
They raised slogans against the unexpected hike in the fuel price by the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chib stated that despite decrease in the rates of Crude Oil in the international market, the rates of fuel of all kinds is required to be reduced, but the present government is causing havoc upon the general public by raising the fuel prices.
He further stated that the public is already facing much hardships due to rise in prices of various commodities and under such circumstances this unexpected rise in petrol and diesel prices is going to snatch the meal from the poor section of the society.
He stressed upon the Central Government to roll back hike of fuel prices.
The agitating Youth Congress Leaders also burnt the effigy of Central Government against this price hike of fuel.
Prateek Singh and Vikrant Khajuria-Assembly General Secretary of Raipur Domana Constituency and Sanjay Sharma, Vikram Singh, Hans Raj, Sukhdev, Kalu, Visharath, Rinku Chib, Yasir, Ashu Jamwal, Bhanu Chib, Bunty, Bhanu Jamwal, Sukhi, Mani Chib, Abhi , Af ridi, Vishal Singh Manhas, Chhottu Manhas, Vipan and Vicky Chib were also present.
