Congress protest forces CM to change route

 STATE TIMES NEWS
SRINAGAR: Congress on Monday took a protest rally from Congress Party Headquarters Srinagar in a bid to Gherao Civil Secretariat and against the policies of PDP-BJP Government and its failure on all fronts on the first day of Darbar Move.
The protest march towards Civil Secretariat was intercepted by the heavy contingent of police at M. A. Road Srinagar. The protesters also staged a massive sit in Dharna at the Middle of the road.
The massive protest was organised against anti people and wrong policies of the State Government in order to seek fulfillment of the commitments made by the two coalition partners to the people of the State.
The successful Secretariat Gherao and sit in Dharna by Congress Party led by JKPCC Chief G. A. Mir at Maulana Azad Road forced Chief Minister to change the route to reach Secretariat on the first day of opening of Darbar Move.
Later, PCC Chief G. A. Mir while addressing the protesters asked Mehbooba Mufti to explain which decision of her was correct either going with the BJP or the delay in Government formation by her (Mehbooba Mufti).
PCC Chief said that the delay in Government formation by her (Mehbooba Mufti) was a move to hoodwink the people again on the so called agenda of alliance by enacting different stories, first they (PDP) secured votes to stop BJP and RSS and now the same BJP and RSS are being imposed by PDP on the people who have voted for them.
PCC Chief blamed PDP BJP Coalition for failing to address urges and aspirations of the people, for the fact, both PDP and BJP have let down the people in every respect.
JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir said the party would not accept the proposal of establishing ‘Sainik Colony’.
“Congress has made it clear that we would not accept any such proposal from the government that encroaches or dilutes the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370,” Mir told reporters here.
PCC Chief said Mehbooba Mufti has not even able to get 20 per cent of relief package released by the Central Government out of Rs. 44,000 crores that the previous INC-NC Coalition Government had demanded keeping in view all aspects of the damages caused due to flood, he said.
G. A. Mir while taking a dig at hasty and faulty implementation of Food Security Act in the State accused Coalition Govt for implementing the Act in haste without adequate ground work and in the absence of discussions and debate in the State legislature over the implications of its implementation in the State.
He said since PDP-BJP has taken over, the entire ration distribution system has been derailed and
people are deprived of ration facilities.
PCC Chief blamed PDP-BJP Coalition for being non serious about the regularization issue of Daily rated  workers working in different departments, problems confronting RMSA teachers in absence of monthly pay dues, SRO 105 which has left quarry workers of Srinagar and elsewhere jobless, considerable rise in unemployment in the State and several other issues concerning people.
Lashing out at the Coalition Government for abandoning the practice of having summer Secretariat and Winter Secretariat after the Darbar move to other region, he said this move of the Government would deprive the people of other region to have approach to the Govt for a period of six months, which is very unfortunate and unacceptable, he added.
On occasion PCC Chief made it clear that Congress Party won’t allow anyone to dilute the special status of the State, he was referring to the proposal of setting up of Sainik Colony.
