BISHNAH: Former Minister and senior Congress Leader Gulchain Singh Charak visited sensitive and border villages of Arnia Tehsil to address public/corner meetings organised by the party besides taking a meeting of the party functionaries to further accelerate the pace of ensuing election campaign in this part of Bishnah Constituency. A public meeting was addressed by Charak at village Chak Majra which was largely attended by the local Congress workers/leaders and people from Chak Majra and adjoining villages.
Charak while addressing the grievances of the people of this border belt especially the losses suffered due to heavy shelling by Pakistan and recent floods which forced people to leave their homes besides causing causalities of their nears and dears, loss of live stock and standing crops, disturbance of studies of their school children etc; Charak reiterated that it is his firm commitment to ensure that due compensation is paid to the affected families who have lost their kiths and kins besides suffering heavy losses of their dwellings, live stock and standing crops. He also made a commitment for the development of the area, revamping its education and health care system and other demands of the people. He further said that efforts for providing a separate government degree college for this border area and provision for suitable accommodation for the newly created Tehsil and Block Hqrs., of Arnia are his other priorities. He appealed to the people to vote in his favour so that he is able to carry out his commitments expeditiously.
A meeting of the Congress Party functionaries was also organised at Arnia where Charak enjoined upon the congress workers to gear themselves up to disseminate the policies and programmers of the Congress Party to the common people and make them understand the manifesto of the party and our agenda designed for the welfare and development of the Bishnah Constituency.
A feather was added in the wings of the party when a large number of people comprising youths and prominent villagers of this border belt joined the Congress Party. They lauded the glorious efforts of Charak for the progress and development of this area and reposed their confidence and faith once again to vote and support Charak in the forthcoming Assembly Elections of the State.
