UDHAMPUR : A large number of Congress activists celebrated Supreme Court verdict over Uttarakhand Assembly vote of no confidence issue. The celebration was held under the leadership of senior Congress leader and State Secretary Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) Sumeet Magotra.
While addressing the gathering Sumeet Magotra said that BJP is trying to disturb the democratic process of the country. He disclosed that few days back BJP was trying to attempt defection among Congress MLAs in Uttarakhand State resulting few in Congress MLAs with the help of BJP MLAs having to submit vote of no confidence against State Government of Uttarakhand led by Chief Minister Harish Rawat but on the other hand BJP masters of the defectors have managed to impose President Rule in Uttarakhand State but Chief Minister Harish Rawat knocked the door of Supreme Court for justice and Supreme Court of India has given instructions to the Chief Minister Harish Rawat to prove his majority on the floor of House by the secret ballot and result shall be declared by the Supreme court and today Supreme Court has declared that Harish Rawat has proved his majority resulting Union Cabinet of Government of India deciding to withdraw President rule from Uttarakhand State. Magotra said that the interference of Supreme Court and its judgment is not only historic but it exposed the ill will and dirty politics of BJP and its move was undemocratic. Congress activists were raising slogans in favor of historic verdict of Supreme Court and judiciary of the country. Senior Congress leader Advocate Suriender Khajuria, Raj Kumar Kalotra, Rajesh Gupta, Ganesh Phangelia, Sonu Kesari, Sham Bansal, Mohit, Arun, Subash Sharma, Shivam Sharma, Jeevan Sharma, Umesh Deppu and Arjun Singh were prominent leaders among others who spoke on the occasion.
