JAMMU: Congress on Sunday demanded re-polling in several polling booths area of Darhal DDC constituency in Rajouri district, as all opposition candidates including INC, NC and PDP candidates are sitting on Dharna in front of DDC office Rajouri, since last night. JKPCC Chief spokesperson, Advocate Ravinder Sharma supported the demand for re-polling in various polling stations where the voters complained irregularities and bogus voting allegedly in favour of ruling party candidate.
“Since all opposition candidate are complaining about the alleged irregularities , the election commission should order re-polling in such stations to maintain the faith of the people in the electoral process,” Ravinder said. The commission, he added, should take immediate notice of the ongoing Dharna and protest by different political parties at DDC office Rajouri and issue appropriate directions, after ascertaining the facts from the public, without further delay, since the ruling party has a strong interest in the area.
Sharma hoped that the commission shall take due notice of the matter and decide the things impartially and independently.
