Congress expresses concern over shortage of ration

JAMMU: District President, District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban), Anil Chopra expressed serious concern over the acute shortage of ration at government ration depots in Jammu city and elsewhere in the State.
In a meeting held at party headquarter, here on Tuesday, Anil said that the present system under NFSA lacks proper distribution mechanism and the result is that the whole State of Jammu and Kashmir is facing hardship in getting proper and timely ration supply.
“The department has reduced the quantity of ration per head per ration card and number of genuine ration cards have been cancelled by the department and no proper family bifurcations have been done,” he said adding that the most unfortunate is that instead of flour the CAPD Department is providing wheat, which is adding to the woes of people.
Chopra urged upon the Governor to look into the matter personally in order to make availability of ration to the people on top priority basis.
Prominent among those who spoke in the meeting include B.B Gupta, Madan Lal Malagar, Dr. Ramakant Khajuria, Gourav Chopra, Ch. Goutam, Dewan Chand, Rakesh Bhagat, Chanchal Popli, Kirti Gupta, Pawan Dev Singh and Naresh Rakhi.
