‘Congress to effectively raise issues of cross section of society in budget session’

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief G.A Mir and party legislators in one voice said that Congress would play the role of vibrant opposition in the both Houses and make the government accountable on all the commitments made by the two coalitions partners.
Mir flanked by Senior Congress legislators including N. Rigzin Jora, and Aijaz Khan said that party would leave no opportunities to raise the voice of different sections of the society and day today issues and problems of the people and make the government accountable to the people is the purpose of legislature in the democracy. Earlier, Mir chaired a meeting of all Congress MLAs and MLCs to discuss the strategy for the budget session of the State Legislature beginning tomorrow.
The meeting discussed and deliberated upon all issues comforting the people of three regions of the State and cross sections of the society and devised the strategy to effectively raise all those issues and problems and hardships faced by the people and the failure of PDP-BJP Government.
Congress leaders also decided to have joint meeting with other oppositions parties, to have coordination on issues of common concern in order to highlight the problems of people.
However, Mir said, the parties shall adopt their own course, as per their approach and ideology on other issues to question the Coalition Government.
The meeting was attended by CLP leader N. Rigzin Jora, Dy. Leader Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Chief Whip Vikar Rasool, G.M Saroori, Haji Rshid, Usman Majid, Jahangir Mir (MLC), G.N Monga(MLC), Ch. Mumtaz, Gulzar Wani, Ch. Akram, Mohd. Amin Bhat, Asgar Karbalai, Deldan Namgyal, Former PCC President Peer Zada Mohd. Sayeed, Former Dy.CM Tara Chand, AICC Secretary Imran Kidwai, Vice Presidents Mula Ram and Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, General Secretaries Shabir Ahmed Khan and Vikram Malhotra.
“A joint meeting with other opposition is slated today evening,” Mir said.
