Congress demands immediate compensation to suffering farmers

KATHUA: Congress Party has shown serious concern over the crop loss due to recent fire incidences and due to absence of seasonal rains the previous days. Expressing his worries towards the farmer community, District Congress Committee President Former MLC Subash Gupta demanded government for immediate relief to the sufferers.
Through a press handout issued, Subash Gupta said that previously absence of seasonal rains immensely damaged the standing crops throughout the district and now the fire incidents. He said that yesterday two poor farmers Chuni Lal and Rampal from Kishanpur Panchyat lost their 32-Kanal standing crop, which was ready for harvesting. Subash Gupta expressing grief over the loss said that farmers of the district were already facing numbers of hardships and now the fire incidences had started playing cruel joke with them.
He added that the rains had damaged wheat as well as other Rabi crops vastly especially in Hiranagar sector as well in Kandi belt. “The crops of Kandi area had been damaged cent-percent where as in lower belt it is fifty percent”, he claimed.
Recalling the loss irreparable Subash Gupta said, “The State Government taking serious note of the loss to the farmer’s community should initiate immediate survey of the loss so that the estimation of loss made in time followed with the compensation to affected farmers”.
Showing solidarity with the farmer community of district Kathua, he had demand suitable compensation to the farmers affected due to fire incidences and the compensation of crop loss due to unseasonal rains.
