Congress blames State, Centre for manipulating elections

JAMMU: Reacting to the outcome of election results, Congress on Saturday termed the results as unfortunate stating that figures were highly manipulated. The party blamed both State and Central Government for manipulating the elections to ensure the victory of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
Although the party congratulated Chief Minster for her victory, Congress blamed the ruling dispensation for using official machinery in the elections, besides using money power to ensure the victory of Chief Minister.
It was shocking that the EVMs were found without proper seal forcing Congress candidates besides other candidates to bycott the counting, despite the protests held by the Congress candidate and other candidates, the counting was not stopped and elections were declared in favour of Chief Minister. Congress believed the election was a stage managed drama enacted to ensure victory of Chief Minister, release said.
