BASOHLI: Senior Congress Leader and sitting MLA from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on Wednesday addressed series of election public meetings in Basohli Constituency.
“The divisive agenda of the BJP and its allies in Jammu and Kashmir can be counter-checked only through a decisive vote,” Saroori told a large gathering of Congress supporters in Basohli Constituency.
“The Congress sees the Assembly elections as a challenge not only to prevent the divisive and frenzied elements from causing any harm to Kashmir’s special status, but to also safeguard the State’s unique constitutional and pluralistic character by establishing new bonds between communities and regions,” he said.
Saroori said the Congress agenda goes beyond good governance, on which it has established credentials, and the party looks forward to paving the way for dignified resolution of the border issue.
“Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are part of a bouquet and it must continue to be like that. The Congress will nurture that idea at any cost,” Saroori said and added that “It is Ghulam Nabi Azad’s desire to establish a system where every section of the society would get justice and equal opportunities for development and economic growth”.
Saroori said the Congress agenda was formulated by accommodating wishes and aspirations of all regions of the State. During his tenure Azad carved a path of peace and development by treating all regions equally, he said.
Congress candidate from Basohli Jagdish Raj Sapolia urged the people to vote in his favour for another stint so that the development of the constituency could be taken to new heights.
