Congress accuses Centre of destabilising party-ruled States

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Congress on Tuesday held a protest here accusing the Centre of trying to destabilise the governments in the party-ruled states.
“The Centre is destabilising Congress governments. What happened in Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are a glaring example of vendetta politics adopted by the NDA government,” Congress leader Raman Bhalla said.
The former minister said the Centre, as part of a conspiracy, was trying to overthrow the governments in the Congress-ruled states.
“Never in the history of independent India, was the President’s rule imposed when Governor of the state asked the Chief Minister to prove majority in the House,” he said.
Bhalla said the “toppling” of democratically elected government in a State was a dangerous trend which does not augur well for the democratic set-up of the country.
Congress leaders also raised slogans against the coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir which was sworn-in yesterday, by terming it as an “unholy alliance” and said the BJP-PDP combine had formed the government disrespecting the mandate given to them by the people of the State.
“The needle of suspension points towards BJP when army is withdrawn from Tatoo Ground and Tosh Khana in Badgam,” Bhalla said and asked BJP to must explain whether allowing the leaders of Hurriyat Conference to the Pakistan National Day in the Pakistan Embassy in New Delhi was the part of agreement of implementation of policies and agenda of Mehbooba Mufti.
Congress leader Mula Ram said, “Both these parties (BJP and PDP) contested elections against each other. During his election rallies in the state, the Prime Minister always said he wants to root out the father-son and father-daughter governments but his party entered into an alliance first with father and now with daughter.”
