Congregational prayers held at Shahdra Sharief for Mufti

RAJOURI: A special congregation was organised by Abdul Qayoom Dar Chairman Auqaf Rajouri to pay homage to late Mufti Mohd Sayeed, Ex Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, in which hundreds of people from all corners of Peer Panjal region participated and prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage for the family members. People were seen with tears in their eyes when Ulemas were praying for late Mufti Mohd Sayeed at a specially organised congregation at Shahdra Sharief Shrine on Thursday.
The proceedings of the congregation began with Quran Khawani, in which hundreds of students from Madrasas of the district, besides common people and Ulemas recited the Holy Quran.
The congregation was presided over by the senior most religious authority of the region, Moulana Hafiz Mohd Sayeed.
Ulemas from different areas of the region shed light on the life and contributions of late leader, terming him a far sighted and visionary human being who lived for the poor and downtroddens.
In his emotional address, Chairman District Auqaf and Administrator Shahdra Sharief Shrine, Abdul Qayoom Dar said that the death of Mufti Mohd Sayeed had deprived the entire Peer Panjal region of a Massiah, who thought and fought for the backward region all the times. ” We have lost a sympathiser and advocate of the region in Mufti’s death” Dar said, terming that the death of the late leader was a shocking blow to the poor of the region , Dar said that the loss suffered thus, shall remain irreparable.
