KHOUR: Congress will always stand for the cause of poor and downtrodden people and will not allow any injustice with this deprived section of society.
This was stated by Tara Chand former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader while leading a rally comprising Panchs, Sarpanchs and prominent people of Khour, Kharah and Pargwal areas of Chhamb Assembly Constituency here at Khour. The rally was organised by Block Congress Committee Khour.
Addressing the mammoth gathering Tara Chand accused government of making the three revenue officials as scapegoats in the case in which local MLA’s name was figured in the list of people belonging to BPL category.
He said that the aforesaid officials including a Tehsildar were punished for the mistake done by their junior staff. He also expressed serious concern over the pending claims of labourer community in Khour Block.
He said that on the demands of public the Government allotted some urgent nature of development works and some SOS works to the Panchayats for execution and the same were completed by the concerned Panchayats, the field functionaries of the rural Development Department had after proper measurements, submitted the bills to the BDO’s Office since long, but payment thereof was not released till today to the concerned Panchayats without any reason with the result the wages of poor labourers could not be settled so far and they are clamoring for the same.
He urged upon the Govt. that all the pending claims of poor people with regard to developmental works should be cleared without any further loss of time. He said that the development works in Khour Block have gone for grand halt.
Works of all the projects started by previous Govt. have been abandoned and the general public is facing problems on account of basic amenities of life such as electricity, drinking water, road connectivity, education, health care, etc.
He said that most of the area of Khour block is hilly and border area and people have been suffering since 1947.
Taking into the consideration, the previous NC-Congress Govt. had took decision to provide 5 marlas plot to the residents of border area in the safer zone and at some extent, provided 5 marlas plot to border area people at safer zone but the present BJP-PDP Govt. has negative approach towards border area people and halted the process for the reason not known by us.
