According to College authorities, the trouble on the campus started around 11.00 PM on Thursday night after faculty members and students dispersed after having their dinner. The students had pooled money to enjoy the evening alongside watching cricket match on the big screen inside the auditorium. Initially the college Principal was reluctant to grant permission, fearing unrest in the campus but when some of the staff members were cajoled to join the evening the students were given go ahead to organise the special screening of the match.
According to eyewitness reports, the final year student who is also a close relative of former Congress minister, allegedly grabbed Tricolour from one of the girl student and reportedly burnt it down minutes after the students and staff members dispersed after the match was over.
Initially college authorities resisted students’ pressure to suspend the nuisance maker but when local leaders also intervened and staged protest demonstrations the Principal submitted a written complaint to the nearby police station seeking action against Inzamam.

These students donned Pakistani T-shirts, hooted Indian players, clapped their Pakistani counter parts and later posted their ‘joyous’ photographs on social media. Police is reported to have accessed to all this material, which they feel had been inspiring factor for some of the students including Inzamam to rejoice victory of West indies just to belittle India.
