JAMMU: SSP Jammu, Dr. Sunil Gupta on Tuesday examined the performance of Police Station Janipur at a meeting held here.
SP City North, Dr. Vinod Kumar, DySP Headquarters Sugandha Mahajan, SHO and Investigating Officers of Police Station, Janipur were also present in the meeting. The main focus of the meeting was burglary, motor vehicle theft and NDPS Act cases. Besides, missing persons, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders and action taken under preventive measures were also reviewed.
SSP Jammu directed the police station staff to conduct foot patrolling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Janipur and make the beat system stronger to avoid thefts and other incidents in the area. The presence of police in the area shall avert the untoward incidents.
Under Operation Pathshala, the SHO was asked to contact the school authorities in his jurisdiction for visit of students to Police Station Janipur to make the students aware about the police functioning, traffic rules and regulation and keep them away from drug abuse.
At last, investigating officers were directed to conduct the investigation of cases on merits and bring the pendency to minimum i.e. less than 40 per cent.
Meanwhile, SSP Jammu visited Raghunath Temple and took stock of Janamashtami Shobha Yatra preparations. He was accompanied by SP City North Dr. Vinod Kumar, SDPO City North Vivek Shekhar, SHO City Shakti and Incharge Police Post Hari Market.
SSP took a round of the route to be followed by Shobha Yatra and also gave directions to be followed enroute. He also randomly checked shops selling kites and kite strings.
