Committee takes up new Civil Air Terminal, runway extension

JAMMU: Airport Advisory Committee on Friday discussed issues regarding transfer of land in Belicharna for development of new Civil Air terminal, runway extension and other passenger facilities.
In a meeting of the committee held under the chairmanship of Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma and was attended by Kavinder Gupta MLA, Gandhi Nagar, D.K Gautam, Airport Director and other designated members, Jugal assured the house that necessary efforts shall be made for expeditious handing over of land for construction of new Civil Air Terminal. Gautam apprised the house that additional passenger facilities like three aero-bridges and covered tensile fabric canopy on the city side of airport from entry to exit are being provided for betterment of passenger facilities . “In addition to this, construction of additional taxi track for faster movement of aircrafts has also been taken up”, he added. Jugal and Kavinder Gupta applauded the efforts of Airports Authority of India for providing modern airport infrastructure with emphasis on better facilities and convenience.
