Dear Editor,
It is unfortunate that cricket today has become a business. Our sporting culture would lose its pristine purity if the likes of Indian Premier League are allowed to flourish in the name of commercialisation. When Indian cricket legends like Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri played cricket, test cricket was considered the ultimate test of one’s ability, character and temperament.
But today, cricket has become a tool for making money. It is the duty of the authorities concerned to step in and weed out the weak spot in Indian cricket’s landscape.
