AKHNOOR: A 19 years old girl, student of Ist year studying in Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar, Jammu jumped into the river Chenab near Samadhian, Akhnoor on Thursday.
Before jumping into the river, the girl identified as Sunita daughter of Vijay Kumar resident of Krishna Nagar, Jammu sent a message to her brother on WhatsApp asking him to take care of her parents.
Relatives of the girl informed the Akhnoor Police, which came to the spot and recovered her belongings. Her body has, however, not been recovered so far. The circumstances under which she took this extreme step could not be ascertained. The police has registered a case for investigation.
