JAMMU: Heritage School and Ashoka Academy won their respective matches on the opening day of the inter-school under-17 boys Jammu District football tournament for Coca Cola Cup, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA), at GGM Science College Ground, here on Friday.
In the first match, Heritage School trounced Spring Dales School by three goals to nil. Anish Parmar (5th), Rudrapratap Singh (10th) and Anish Kumar (40th) were the scorers.
The second match of the day won by Ashoka Academy beating Mahavir International School 2-0. Amit Sayal netted both the goals in seventh and 10th minute of the match.
In all, 24 teams, representing various educational institutions of the Jammu district, are taking part in this knock-out tournament.
The opening matches were witnessed besides others by Treasurer of JKFA, R.K Kohli, and members, Feastus Sotra and Narinder Gupta as also football Coach of State Sports Council, Sat Pal.
