JAMMU: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday snubbed Director General Tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah in full media-gaze while raising the issue of poor maintenance of lawns inside the Chief Minister’s official residence.
Soon after Mehbooba stepped in the sprawling lawns of Raj Bhawan after the completion of brief oath taking ceremony, she had all praise for the lawns. Ironically, she admitted that the Chief Minister’s residential lawns had been converted in to a ‘jungle’.
Mehbooba called the Director General Tourism and conveyed her displeasure to him “How beautiful flowers in these lawns; but we don’t have the same in our lawns,” the Chief Minister was heard telling the Governor while taking the round of lawns in the Raj Bhawan complex.
“See beautiful flowers are blooming here, it’s really looking nice. Our garden has been converted in to a jungle,” she said.
She was flanked by Governor N N Vohra and a group of ministers while inspecting the lawns. Later she joined Governor and together they chatted for a while over a cup of tea.
