CM disgraced House, people by avoiding debate on valley unrest: Mir

SRINAGAR: Stating that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is insensitive to the agony and anguish of the people, JKPCC President G.A Mir blamed Chief Minister for disgracing the House and people by preferring to lay foundation stone rather than debating and discussing damages caused to life and property due to Valley unrest, in the House.
Addressing convention of party workers of DCC Anantnag at Khanabal Anantnag, Mir termed the absence of Chief Minister from the House as unfortunate and condemnable. He said Chief Minister has no time to debate the losses caused to life and property in the Valley due to unrest, the behaviour of Chief Minister is irresponsible and insensitive towards the issues concerning people.
“Chief Minister should have remained in the House to discuss the damages caused and it’s fall out with the opposition, but she preferred to fly to Srinagar to avoid debate, which was not only surprising, but indicative of dual standards of PDP-BJP Coalition Government. The absence of Chief Minister has proved she (Mehbooba Mufti) is not serious or concerned about the wellbeing of the people,” Mir asserted.
Mir said it is evident from the day one PDP-BJP coalition were neither on the same page nor will they be ever with regard to Kashmir Situation, which shows how PDP has surrendered everything for the sake of power, besides compromising on the interest of the people. He also accused Chief Minister of taking directives from Nagpur Headquarters of RSS, he added.
Mir said mere shedding tears and releasing statements will not satisfy the people or serve any purpose, as the people need to have good governance as was promised to them by PDP BJP Coalition, in which their sentiments and emotions are respected, but the situation on the ground seems to be very different, for the fact Coalition Government has even failed to perform its legitimate duties towards the people, he said.
Referring to the rising unemployment in all the three regions, Mir blamed government for deliberately faltering the regularisation of 60,000 daily rated and casual labours working in different departments across the State. “Government is not regularising these poor people on the pretext of adjusting new and blued eyed persons in order to gain political mileage out of regularisation process, he said asking asked the government to take immediate measures and regularise the Daily Rated and Casual Labours, on war footing basis.
Those who addressed the convention include PCC Spokespeson Farooq Andrabi, General Secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah, senior leader Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, Abdul Qayoom Shah, Shaheena Nadaf, Mohammad Iqbal Mir, Ali Mohammad Mantoo and Mushtaq Ahmad Khandey.
Later, District Congress Committee Anantnag led by MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani and Manzoor Ahmad Ganai submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi against corruption and demonetisation. The memorandum was handed over to Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag.
Meanwhile, JKPCC Spokesperson lashed out the government over down grading the security cover of Mir aiming to restrict his political movements in the Valley. He also blamed the Home Department over denying the adequate security to Congress President as per his entitlement and warned that incase of any untoward incident, government will be fully responsible.
